When SAMPLE beats DRAFT
DRAFT means the content may change. SAMPLE means the content is representative but not the licensed or final copy. Use SAMPLE on a portfolio case study, a watermarked photo deck, a demo financial model export, or an exam with dummy answers.
Keep the work readable
Blue or gray at ~25% opacity is enough. If you sell the unmarked original, do not paint SAMPLE so dark that the preview is useless; buyers need to judge layout. For images, tiling helps; for text reports, a single large diagonal is enough.
Frequently asked questions
Can I download a sample PDF from this site?
This page watermarks your own file. For reusable transparent marks, grab the SVG pack on the templates page.
Does SAMPLE expire?
No. It is just text in the PDF. Remove it by watermarking a fresh export of the original, unmarked file.
Stamp SAMPLE on the copy you share, and keep the clean original. Templates are available if you also need a PNG overlay for slides.
