How to watermark a PDF on iPhone or Android

Phone PDF apps that watermark often require an account and an upload. You can do a text watermark in Safari or Chrome instead. The same WatermarkPDF page runs on mobile; the constraint is memory, not a missing feature.

iPhone / iPad (Safari)

Open watermarkpdf.com. Tap upload, pick the PDF from Files, iCloud Drive, or a mail attachment you saved. Set the text. Download. Safari will offer Save to Files or Share. If the download seems to do nothing, check the Downloads icon in Safari.

Android (Chrome)

Same flow. Chrome saves to the Downloads folder. From there you can attach the file in Gmail or Drive. Allow the site to download multiple files if you batch.

When a phone will struggle

A 200-page scanned evidence PDF can crash a mobile tab. Email that file to a laptop or compress the scan first. Image watermarks and signatures are still better in a dedicated app if that is what you actually need.

Is there an iOS shortcut for this?

Not an official one. The website is the supported path. Shortcuts that “print to PDF” will flatten text.

Does the Files app have a watermark button?

No. Files can markup an image; it cannot watermark a multi-page PDF natively.

For a short PDF, the phone browser is enough. For a scanned brick of a file, use a desktop.
